The Needle Swallowing Trick is one of the most iconic images in all of magic. A magician swallows a handful of needles and a thread. Moments later, they pull the thread from their mouth, and on it, the needles are threaded.

But there’s a reason many performers avoid it. Anytime you’re putting needles near your mouth, there are risks. And those risks can be amplified under the stage lights, with an audience watching.

Threaded was created with that in mind. The needles never directly touch the inside of your mouth. Not only does that make for a safer performance, but it also means it’s more hygienic too! Don’t worry, it looks just as clean, if not cleaner, than other methods.
