“Paperback Prophecy” hits hard, is easy to do, has three phases with a proper beginning, middle, and end, and best of all, it can be fully customized to virtually ANY book.

You flip through the pages and ask your participant to say stop and remember the first word on that page. Despite it being a completely fair choice, you can tell them exactly the word they’re thinking of.

To kick things up a notch, you riffle through twice more. The first time they read a whole paragraph and remember the scene, and the second time they just remember the page number.

You hand them the book and show your hands completely clean. When they go to look for the page number they just saw, they’ll discover it’s been ripped out!

You ask them to tell you the scene they were thinking of. They describe a scene with a fizzy drink, like champagne, and as they describe it, you produce a champagne flute. Inside the flute is a rolled-up piece of paper. It’s the torn-out page with the number they were thinking of, and most importantly, the torn edges match completely!
